The story behind PowerNexx
Founded 2025, Ulestraten
In 2025 Kevin Hermans (31) started his own electrical business. The road there wasn't a straight line. Before PowerNexx, Kevin had a toy shop, which eventually had to close because it didn't make the turnover it needed. After that he tried working as an employee, but that turned out not to be for him.
The urge to work for himself again became too strong. With his background in electrical engineering and the realisation that as an employee he couldn't deliver the service he had in mind, he started his own business. What began as a fresh start is now growing into a business with an ever larger number of loyal customers.
PowerNexx is a full electrical installation company. From replacing consumer units and installing EV chargers to complete electrical installations, lighting projects and a 24/7 fault service. At the moment about 85% of the jobs are for homeowners, the rest for business customers and property developers.
Although the home base is Limburg, Ulestraten to be precise, PowerNexx works across the whole of the Netherlands. From Maastricht to Groningen, from Rotterdam to Enschede. That goes for planned projects and for faults, 24/7; in Limburg I'm on site quickest. One regular recurring project, for example, is the seasonal lighting for a large client in the Randstad, every year from October to February in Rotterdam, Amsterdam and the surrounding cities.

What sets PowerNexx apart isn't one thing but a combination. Personal and direct contact (no middlemen, no call centre), a 2-year guarantee on all work carried out, a clear price up front and extra work only after consultation, and the conviction that everything should be open to discussion, including money if that's needed.

Special: outdoor lighting across the Netherlands. PowerNexx does outdoor lighting for town centres, shopping streets, businesses and homeowners throughout the Netherlands. From Christmas lights from October to February, to permanent mood, facade and grounds lighting all year round. I work for regular business clients in the Randstad and for one-off jobs anywhere in the Netherlands. Supply your own materials or have me supply them, anything is possible. Nothing is too much.

Questions about PowerNexx
What area does PowerNexx cover?
PowerNexx is based in Ulestraten and works across the whole of the Netherlands, for both planned projects and 24/7 emergencies. Only the travel time differs by postcode: in the region I'm on site quickly, further away the drive takes longer.
Does PowerNexx use subcontractors?
No. Kevin handles every job personally. You always know exactly who is coming into your home.
What guarantee does PowerNexx give?
PowerNexx gives a 2-year guarantee on all work carried out. Complaints are dealt with straight away, however small.
How quickly does PowerNexx respond to a quote request?
You get a reply within 1 working day. Urgent jobs are dealt with sooner.
What doesn't PowerNexx do?
Complete solar panel installations, air conditioning installations and complex smart home with IT/internet integration. Standard electrical connection work for these is possible.
Does PowerNexx work to the NEN standards?
Yes. All work is carried out to NEN 1010 (new installations) and NEN 3140 (periodic inspection). PowerNexx is also a Zaptec Certified Partner for EV charger installations.
How can I pay?
By invoice (iDEAL | Wero via the customer portal), credit card, or on account for business customers. For larger projects a payment plan can be discussed.
Does PowerNexx also do outdoor lighting and Christmas lights?
Yes. From October to February PowerNexx installs Christmas lights across the Netherlands. Outside that, I do permanent outdoor lighting, facade lighting and grounds lighting for businesses and homeowners all year round. See /en/outdoor-lighting for more information or the request form.
