When does your consumer unit need replacing?
Old unit with screw-in fuses
Screw-in fuses, or a unit from before 1990? Then you don't meet NEN 1010 and you have no RCD protection.
Need to expand
An EV charger, induction hob or solar panels? Often that won't fit in the old unit.
During a renovation
Doing it alongside the renovation saves you time, money and breaking out walls.
When selling or buying
A unit that meets NEN 1010 gives certainty to buyers and to the insurer.
What it costs
The same amounts as when you calculate your price yourself. Business customer? Your quote also shows the amounts excluding VAT.

On the day
One day of work. You can stay in your home.
Together with you, I plan the day and the moment the power goes off.
Usually 2 to 4 hours without power. After that the new unit is in use.
You get the NEN 1010 test report and the completion certificate in your customer portal.
Questions about the consumer unit
How long will I be without power?
Usually 2 to 4 hours. I plan it so that you and your appliances are bothered as little as possible.
What if I still have screw-in fuses?
Then your consumer unit has to be replaced anyway to meet NEN 1010. Insurers often reject units with screw-in fuses.
Can I choose the brand of consumer unit myself?
Yes. As standard I work with Hager. Feel free to ask about the options; my 2-year guarantee applies to every brand.
What if the wiring causes problems during the work?
Then I call you straight away. Extra work only after you agree: if the wiring turns out to be worn, you first get an additional quote before I carry on.
Will my meter cupboard comply with NEN 1010?
Yes, provided the wiring also complies. I test after the installation and you get a NEN 1010 test report.
Can the EV charger be done in the same job?
Yes, combining them on one day is possible. You can see the circuit for the EV charger in the prices above; you book the charger itself via EV charger installation.
